6 kids commit suicide vs. Over a thousand dying in the Pakistan flood.
Seems completely just to make a huge deal about six most likely clinically depressed teenagers killing themselves, when there is so much worse in the world. I’m not trying to say that it was acceptable for those kids to be bullied and isolated because of their life choices but it seems like, once again, there is this selective blindness by Americas. Making a huge deal about teenage suicide then seemingly not noticing massive famine and death in foreign countries seems ridiculous. Media creates the buzz, then it creates a cyclone of more and more attention, which is then latched onto by lazy bloggers who suddenly see themselves as gay rights activists because they re-blogged a picture of a purple photoshop. Also fuck whoever thinks this is homophobic.
